Law/Patents
French term or phrase: société de répartition et de gestion collective des droits d'auteurs et de produ
Calling all intellectual property buffs!

Part of a contract which sets out the intellectual property rights thereto and in particular that one party to the contract confirms having obtained all necessary authorisations from these associations. They administer the distribution/payment and collection of rights (money) and the obtaining of authorisation where necessary, in some cases.

What I need is the "mot juste" the specific term we use in English to describe such associations.

English translation:"copyright clearance agent"
Explanation:
is the canonical term. Such agents more often than not operate through a copyright clearance center; see the web site below. (BTW, a quick web search turned up more than 120,000 kits for "copyright clearance"...!) -- Best, HC

Thank you very much both of you. The term put forward by Heathcliff is very helpful. Whilst this term is indeed the canonical term in the USA, none of my research has produced any similar term used in the UK. Each sector - writing, performing arts, etc - is governed by its own individual association. I still have to think a bit more and play around with a few words to find some term which will work and not shock. I think clearance is going to come in useful.
