French term or phrase: association d'utilité publique
Hello,
I am actually looking for both "association d'utilité publique" in general and, more specifically how to translate 'utilité publique' in the following:

"une reconnaissance d'utilité publique requiert habituellement des conditions bien spécifiques..."

in this case it refers to an association/associative structure.

Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Explanation:
The above being translations of "utilité publique", here are a few more that might be of help:

association reconnue d'utilité publique = charity; recognised association

déclaré d'utilité publique = classified (as being of public interest)

établissement d'utilité publique = public corporation promoting the public interest; charitable corporation

expropriation pour cause d'utilité publique = expropriation in the public interest

institution d'utilité publique = institution promoting the public interest; charitable institution.

All the above taken from the Council of Europe glossary (see below)

Thank you all for trying... I suppose I should have thought to specify that the association in question has absolutely NOTHING to do with utilities (gas, water, electricity, etc.) and is not a charity either...
in this context, the only thing that "fits" is 'classified as being of public interest'...
Thanks, Gillian!
