French term or phrase: à compter d'un an à dater de la signature des présentes
"Le contrat prend effet à compter d'un an à dater de la signature des présentes." Two things: I would just like to be absolutely sure that this means that the contract will take effect one year from the day that it is signed. Secondly, what tense should I use? The contract takes effect or will take effect?
