Google returned almost 3,000 hits for "automobile" +"impound" and almost 4,000 for "automobile" +"impoundment", most of them involving municipal regulations and accident-investigation procedures.

"The victim's truck ... was impounded at heaquarters for examination. (A copy of) the impoundment form appears in Attachment D."

Or, more loosely, "the victim's truck ... was taken to the impound yard (or "impound lot") at headquarters..."

Harraps suggests the following for remiser:

(a) (voiture, valise, vélo etc) to put away

Clearly in the above context, we are more likely to say to impound. Remisé for me would be:
impounded ... pending investigation

Remisage is more tricky but you might say: "Detained vehicles" or "seized vehicles".

Explanation:
Just wondering if “vehicle pound”, “car pound” are suitable terms for the place where a car would be taken if the forensic guys need to go over the car. “Vehicle/car pounds” (UK) are places where cars which have caused an obstruction are put, perhaps not the same place. The extract says that the lorry was taken to HQ for investigation (Police Pound?). Heathcliff's rendering with the verb "impound" gets roudn this potential (non) problem.
