Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / packaging/conveyor type machinery?? :)
French term or phrase: Ring Blocks
Looking for a bit of help on this tiny extract I have been given to translate, with no further context as to exactly what type of machinery we are talking about. I asked for more context but none has been provided. I told the agency from the beginning that I really didn't want to do it, but they are insistent - so I told them I would simply do my best with the little provied. To me it looks like it is something to do with packaging machinery involving conveyor belts etc.

"Essayer déjà manuellement d' indexer en manouvrant en avant ou en arrière les chaînes d' avance couvercles en débloquant lesRing Block des pignons (ou uniquement le Ring Block de la chaîne à régler). Une fois la chaîne en position ,bloquer le Ring block ."

And here's what I have so far:

"Begin by manually indexing - by manipulating back and forth the lid-feed system chains by releasing the Ring Blocks on the sprockets (or simply the Ring Block on the
to be adjusted). Once the chain is in position, tighten the Ring Block."

chaîne = I am presuming that these are literally the chains involved in the machinery - that move the rollers or whatever.

Any light that any of you experts could shed on this rather vague excerpt would be most appreciated.

Explanation:
since they use Ring Blocks in French why scratch your head to find a better one in English? ;-)
I'm not sure what they mean by indexer unless it means to link here

(or simply the Ring Block on the "chain to be adjusted"
or on the chain that needs adjusting (maybe)
