French to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering
French term or phrase: dessinateur en microtechnique
The profession of someone who designs very small components.

"Draftsman" seems appropriate for "dessinateur" but would "component draftsman" be acceptable? "Micro draftsman" sounds plain silly to me!

Note that "Component Designer" is the name of software.

Many thanks!

A micro-engineer would be a designer first but may also be proficient at operating what is usually precision equipment.
ie has a knowledge of materials, material tolerance, co-efficients of expansion, hardness, thermal properties, alloys, corrosion etc

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi Blavatsky - does this refer specifically to the person designing the components?
