French term or phrase: sans point dur
I've found the translations "hard spot" and "rough running" for "point dur". How do you fit them into a sentence such as the following (I'm providing the three for context, but I don't expect anyone to translate all three for me! Just some advice would be appreciated!)

without a point of resistance

Explanation:
I found this meaning in bicycle pedals and sails; however, 3M uses it for "hard spots" with regards to adhesives.
