French to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / veterinary (canine) anatomy
French term or phrase: sillon (d'un muscle)
This is more a wording than a terminology question. In a documen about canine anatomy, there is an image of the thoracic limbs, with a key to the numbered points in the image. The phrase "sillon du muscle ..." appears several times, but i'm just not sure how best to phrase it:

e.g.
sillon du muscle extenseur oblique du carpe
sillon du muscle extenseur commun des doigts

Would it best be:

Groove of the [extensor communis]
or: Groove for the [extensor communis]
or: [Extensor communis] groove

Or something else?

I'm also inclined to leave out "muscle" in each of the phrases, as I feel it is more than obvious what it refers to, especially as the document is aimed at veterinary professionals.

Comments greatly appreciated.
