French to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical (general) / MRI Brain scan with contrast
French term or phrase:cavité hydrocéphalique séquellaire frontale droite
I am still translating a brain scan regarding glioblastoma. Here is the context:
Pas de modification par ailleurs de la collection sous-durale chronique de la cavité hydrocéphalique séquellaire frontale droite.
Pas d'extension intra-ventriculaire ou épandymaire.
Pas de nouvelle lésion.
I am unable to find "cavité hydrocéphalique" on any French medical site!
"par ailleurs de la collection sous-durale chronique et de la cavité hydrocéphalique séquellaire frontale droite" – no change with regard to the chronic subdural fluid collection [this could be "hygroma" in medspeak], and with regard to the residual [secondary to the resection] CSF cavity in the right frontal lobe.
Not my forté, but Stedman's talks about compartments (double-compartment hydrocephalus). Back to word order, "collection sous-durale chronique séquellaire (à quoi?) de la cavité frontale droite" would seem to make more sense if the collection was a sequela, but I'm not strong on the cranium. Is the a hydrocephalic cavity in the right frontal compartment the result of some injury or disease? That would explain the "sequellaire" after "caivté hydrocéphalique"

as a result of the treatment of the right frontal hidrocefalichna cavity
Explanation: hydrocéphalique - accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid within the ventricles of the brain because its normal outlet has been blocked by congenital malformation or disease. In infancy it usually results in great enlargement of the head.
séquellaire - any abnormal bodily condition or disease related to or arising from a pre-existing disease
