Medical - Medical (general)
French term or phrase: U.S. de sang
l’Hb chute de 14 g à J3 à 7 g à J8 malgré la transfusion de 2 U.S. de sang à J5, transfusion répétée à J7...
I'm presuming this is simply 2 units of blood but the fact that U.S. is capitalised makes me suspect there may be another explanation.
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks

English translation:S.U.
Explanation:
Unité standard -> Standard Units -> S.U.

However, even if correct, what might be understood as a standard unit in one place for blood transfusion purposes may not be the same as in another place.

S.U. would tend to suggest an international standard unit along the line of the metric system, scientific notation, etc. So even though I propose it as a possible translation, if not otherwise defined (for example in some places this would be equivalent to 473 mL; 1 pint) it may still represent an inadequacy in the original.
