...in software products, if it is the modelling that were to be deemed realistic, it would involve haptics or force feedback of sorts and/or provide crude models or other imitative devices as input to emulate the ***behavior*** in creating a particular effect so as to achieve a corresponding realistic effect as output. Said effects are usually synthesized in some proprietary way. Simplest example of this is an electronic keyboard.

Simply put: it's the result that's supposed to be realistic, not the way in which the result is produced, which is why I disagree with the interpretation here that it's the "modelling" that's realistic.

Yes, that's what is meant: the software imitates the effects pedals in a realistic way. :) Thank you all for your help, this is great !

I think "réalistes" modifies "modélisations" here, i.e. it's the modelling that is realistic (sounds like a real distortion pedal!), not the effects.

Wow. None of those effects are "real" or "realistic". Baffles me that someone in the music industry would be writing anything describing them as realistic, but "effects modeling" (with 's') seems to be on track. Good luck.

We're more talking of stomp-pedal effects: wha-wha, grunge, distorsion, etc.

Acoustic / reverberation effects?
Dynamic/transitional effects (crescendi, diminendo, accents, slurring, glissandi)?
Instrumental effects (slap tongue, pizz, vibrato, trills, flutters)?
