French to English translations [Non-PRO]
French term or phrase: I have just taken a placement translation test and I have a few more questions I
would like to ask. First, how would you say in French, "He hit the ball right at me." Would it be "il m'a directement envoye la balle (tennis ball?" Also, how would you say " to get a prescription refilled at the pharmacy" in French. French pharmacies operate differently from Quebec ones. And finally, how would you say " we would have or will have just left the city when you get back home?" Would you say "il aurait (aura) a peine quitte la ville quand tu sera rentre." or can you use the expression "on viendrait (viendra) de quitter la ville quand tu..." I would really appreciate your input

English translation:"Il a frappé la balle directement vers moi", "faire remplir (exécuter) une ordonnance a nouveau",
Explanation:
Oops, sorry, I hit the send button by mistake and I had not finished writing this post. Here it is again:

In Quebec, as you may know, "to get a prescription refilled at the pharmacy" would be "faire remplir a nouveau une prescription a la pharmacie", although I think that the word should be really "ordonnance". But that word is never used here.

"une Assure Carte®, qu'est-ce qui arrive lorsque je présente mon ordonnance?
Vous présentez ordonnance et votre Assure Carte® au pharmacien ou au préposé. Cependant, afin que le pharmacien puisse préparer l'ordonnance, il est essentiel d'être inscrit dans sa banque informatisée de données. Par contre, vous devrez quand même présenter votre Carte chaque fois que vous ferez remplir une ordonnance."

This was an example taken from a Canadian website. In France, I think the expression "faire exécuter une ordonnance" might be used:

a) Le pharmacien remplit (exécute) des ordonnances plusieurs fois par jour. (the word "remplit is crossed on the website)
http://www.langueauchat.com/improp3/r22.html

"Une fois leur franchise payée, ces personnes âgées paient des honoraires de pharmacie pouvant atteindre 6,11 $ chaque fois qu'elles font exécuter une ordonnance."
http://www.gov.on.ca/health/french/pubf/drugsf/over-thef.htm...

"We would (will) have just left the city when you get back home": Nous aurions (aurons) tout juste (ou à peine) quitté la ville quand vous rentrerez a la maison (tu rentreras a la maison)
Nous viendrions (nous viendrons) tout juste (à peine) de quitter la ville quand vous rentrerez (quand tu rentreras)

Both sentences are fine.

You did a great job. Thanks again. I trust your answers. I want to award you points for the question I had asked about how to say in French, "early, mid and late twenties." You really explained that well. You gave lots of good example, except I thought you said in French, " 'Il a en debut de vingtaine', 'en milieu de vingtaine' and 'en fin de vingtaine.'" Not 'Il est en... Avoir not etre? I believe you, but I it seems awkward. I don't know why. But you did a great job explaining this. I can't award you points because there is no "yellow thing" at the end of your explanation for this answer on "early, mid and late twenties." For the other person, there is a "yellow thing" to select him. Thanks again
