(industrial processes) I was just wondering whether there was a propoer term for this, or would 'exhausted products' be a suitable translation?? Thanks.

As for the translation, there are different ways, Here are a couple of examples taken from a Canadian government site and its translation:

"Grâce au recyclage en fin de vie, on peut récupérer plusieurs tonnes de mercure qui, à défaut de recyclage, seraient rejetées dans l'environnement."
"Le recyclage des lampes est le devenir privilégié en fin de vie; on devrait avoir recours à l'enfouissement uniquement lorsque les résidus des lampes ne sont pas jugés dangereux et qu'ils demeureront confinés."
