French term or phrase: contextes d'intervention
This is from a volunteer training plan for an international humanitarian organization. I know what it means but am having trouble coming up with a concise translation: "Aider les nouveaux volontaires a mieux s'adapter aux contextes d'intervention de X (name of organization) et aux finalites de son action." Thanks, Karen

the intervention policies
Explanation:
...to assist the new volunteers in better adapting themselves to the intervention policies of X...

Since we're talking about interventions in a cultural, economical, political and social/sociological environment/context, I'd use the word 'policies' here. This covers more than 'setting' etc

outreach environment

Explanation:
The NGO I've been doing work for uses *outreach* in English for *intervention*.

*Environment* is frequently used in English to indicate the social context, where *contexte* is used on French

context of X's efforts

Explanation:
I agree with Yolanda, but I also think the sentence must be re-worked to avoid sounding like a translation.
"Environment of" leads to awkwardness; "environment in which" is wordy and calls for a verb representing "intervention" -- works? assists? I can't think of a good one. I'd recommend something like "both the context and aims of X's activities/ efforts." Good luck, Jessica
