Please read this explanation in full before answering: on major search engines (dmoz.org, which is the directory used by Google and AltaVista, among others) it's listed in English under "Côte d'Ivoire". Also on the CIA's World Factbook, it's called Côte d'Ivoire. However, on news sites it's still called Ivory Coast. I'm translating a travel brochure for an area in Côte d'Ivoire, and need to know if I should put Ivory Coast (more familiar, will be easily recognized by English speakers) or its official name, Côte d'Ivoire. What would you suggest?

I think it is better known throughout the English-Speaking World as "Ivory Coast". Since a travel brochure is aimed at the general public, it is better to use the more recognisable name, (I think!)
