Unofficial copy was best as it means a document that is not taken into an account during an audit

document/copy not controlled/verified

Explanation:
even 'not approved (by management)'...

Meaning that the document has been drawn up but didn't receive the (official/needed) release approval yet

"This copy is not maintained"

Explanation:

Here are a few examples of the expression, where it is used at the bottom of a web page:

"Document géré par André Rombauts. - Dernière mise à jour le 04/10/1998."
http://www.kidlink.org/francais/general/nameiss.html

"Document non géré "
http://www.aimex.fr/fr/business/wb400plg.htm

"Document géré par Y.Duflot (ENST-Bretagne) - Last update : 11 mai 1999"
http://www-rad99.enst-bretagne.fr/indexen.html

And some English examples:

"This document is maintained by nthethy@easynet.co.uk
All pictures were found on the web and are believed to be in the public domain, if you feel otherwise please let me know."
http://www.nthethy.easynet.co.uk/sm/footer.htm

"This document maintained by SayWordTV@aol.com.
Material Copyright © 1999 by BlackGurl for Say Word TV"
http://sayword.homepage.com/Ray.html

You can find the same analogy about "site maintained" or "database maintained",etc. where the French word "géré" is used for the French equivalent. I assume you can also use this when talking about a copy or "exemplaire".

Non-distributed example

Explanation:
It seems this document is a sample document which may be waiting for some approval. Non gerer could simply be stating it has not been distributed accordingly throughout the company/association/or other management organization.
Or it could be the fact that this document has not been completely organized...as proposed by another a rough draft of sorts. Either way it is the same in not being officially distributed or approved.
