French term or phrase: dégration
From the context, this seems to mean "dégradation", but can anyone confirm this? "ce choix de paramètre est pris sur une péiode ... afin de traduire la dégration de 1% des rendements de ces régimes"

English translation:degradation (also: degeneration, disintegration, and yes, dégration = dégradation)
Explanation:
Even though the word "dégration" does not appear in any French dictionary I have consulted, I have found many examples of the use of this word on the web. Every time, it seems to have been used in the sense of "dégradation". Could it be laziness, could it be ignorance? I doubt it since I also found it on a Québec government website. Are we witnessing the birth of a new word here?

Here are a few examples of what I found:

"Le DDT et ses produits de dégration sont les contaminants étudiés."
http://www.is.mcgill.ca/ACFAS/S2015.HTM

"Les trottoirs et la chaussée du bd Paul Montel représentent, par leur état de dégration un danger pour les usagers."
http://www.nice-coteazur.org/francais/mairie/compte_rendu/co...

"recherche sur les facteurs limitant la dégration microbienne de divers polluants organiques, développement de modèles mathématiques de biodégradation."
