game of wits Explanation: Yes I like the previous answer here. "Sagacité" matches up to "perspicacité", (see LGDT) the ability to see clearly through to the other side of a situation. comment on ybroad's answer Explanation: I too got lots of hits for games which in fact turned out to be treasure hunts. I wonder why, as those are mainly called "chasse au trésor" or "jeu de piste". I wondered yesterday and still do today... "Sagacité" to my mind, doesn't have any specific applicaiton in so far as I cannot see that it can only refer to one type of game. Surely lots of types of games could fall under this "umbrella" definition. Why, then, the large number of hits for treasure hunts - odd. |

Clues game Explanation: Using my own noodle, and basing this on the *clues* provided in my Google search, in answer to Nikki's comment: the common factor in all treasure hunts are that they require properly interpreting ambiguous clues. So perhaps the suggestion that these are all *enigma* games is the best one. ;-) Currently very popular with very small children in the US right now is "Blues Clues"--books and toys that have children search out clues in pictures, to make associations and solve problems.
