French term or phrase: demultiplication
I found this word in English and French on many Web sites, and I learned it can mean gearing down, reduction, restructuring or downsizing, among other things. But I can't figure out what it refers to in this context. The document is about "change leaders":

Utilisation des leaders de changement

*dans la vie quotidienne
- transmission d'informations
- demultiplication
- suivi de consignes particulieres
au sein des grands projects
- progres continu, clients dans l'usine
Thanks for any thoughts you may have. Karen

my view on it is that it is a fancy way to say the above, simplification etc.

It's interesting how this word can mean totally opposite things! Thanks for referring me to the previous discussion of this term; it was very helpful. It seems to be a new buzzword. Your suggestion fits the context well. Thanks very much. Karen

Explanation:
Not sure about this, but I've come across "multiplier-effect projects".

replication, expansion, growth

Explanation:
In the context of NGOs and development aid projects, I have often seen "démultiplication" referring to the replication or multiplication of projects... rather than one micro project growing into a large project, the same effect is achieved by replicating the micro project multiple times in different places. It may have roughly the same meaning here but, for businesses, "expansion" or "growth" may be more appropriate...
Could either of these fit your context?
Good Luck,
Lara

delegation / delegating (optimization)

Explanation:
Il s'agit de déléguer, de diviser, de répartir les tâches de façon à optimiser les ressources / le rendement, je crois.

Example:
High demultiplication reduces cutting effort.

Other example :
... a process known as frequency division or demultiplication

The following definition of "delegation" sheds an interesting light on the terme "démultiplication" :

delegation
In management, the process of assigning work to another, usually a subordinate.

délégation n f
Mode de répartition du travail consistant pour un supérieur hiérarchique à confier certains travaux, certaines fonctions ou certains domaines d'activité à un subordonné.

Note :
Lorsqu'elle est organisée de façon scientifique, la délégation permet une DÉMULTIPLICATION de l'efficacité et du potentiel d'un service. Pour cela il convient qu'elle ne résulte pas du seul débordement du supérieur et qu'elle ne consiste pas à transférer la responsabilité exclusivement en cas d'échec.
