French to English translations [PRO] Marketing - Other / Event services
French term or phrase:animation et décoration
This phrase shows up as a type of application for a manufacturer's transfer films.
It's the headline on a product sheet for a type of transfer film.
The full phrase is Solutions Animation et Decoration.
I googled the phrase and found that is an expression for a type of service provided for events or parties. I am fairly sure that the decoration is decoration, but I am a bit puzzled about the English for animation. Do we have a similar expression in English for this type of service?
Also, what does the animation mean?
I think this is probably obvious, but I'm stumped.
We hate the word "animation" too, and have seen it used meaning at least a dozen different things, including "decoration". If these are transfer prints to be used for events, it might mean a logo, or name in various sizes and colours for use on invitations, posters, publicity, match boxes, serviettes and the like. Personally, I would get back to the client and ask exactly what it is referring to. Good luck and Happy New Year
XXX est une gamme de film de transfert xx destinee au marquage personnalise. XXX (expert in ..) technologies d'enduction et d'impression .. gamme etendue de finition declinable sur tous types de supports textiles ou plastiques. AND that's basically the complete text. I need something very simple as this header/slogan, Solutions xx and yy, is a standard across 30 some odd product sheets. Some products have 3 such slogans at the bottom in addition to the header, or some don't have a header, but they all have Solutions xxx et yyy on the bottom
I've always got stuck for a translation of "animateur/animation": maybe here the sense is "égayer" i.e. livening up the place with graphics/personalised objects of some sort, in addition to those decoration.
How about "pzazz" : If you say that someone or something has pzazz, you mean that they are very exciting, energetic, and stylish.
Unfortunately the connection is unclear. All I have is one page. That page is promoting the use of this film product for "marquage personalise" which I took to mean customized branding, as in labels for custom brands.
If it's a heading, what does it say underneath?
It could just be a synonym for decoration, but you haven't given the full context. It does also mean organising parties/entertainment, but that's not the case here.

Explanation: We still have very little context (see the discussion entries), but I think animation and décoration both mean the same thing here, so I'd translate them as one word.
I think it's unlikely to have anything to do with events - the asker appears to have googled "animation" and come up with the "entertainment" meaning, but there's no evidence from the context that this is relevant here.

Asker: It seems a bit of a stretch to say that animation means decoration.
