loosely framed shot, wide angle, wide-angle shot

Explanation:
Dictionnaire de l'anglais des médias & du multimédia (Ed. Pocket, 1995)

plan large = loosley framed shot, wide angle

gros plan = close-up

Dictionnaire Cinéma, Audiovisuel, Multimédia, Réseaux (DIXIT, 1996)

wide-angle = grand angle, grand-angulaire
wide-angle lens = objectif grand-angulaire

Whilst "plan large" does appear to be used, it would appear to be less common than "gros plan" but appraently means the same.
plan rapproché = clàose shot
plan serré = tight shot, close-up
