French term or phrase:blé rustique
I am trying to translate the term "blé rustique" and was wondering if it might refer to "hardy or rustic wheat". I have tried various websites and dictionaries to no avail and have only managed to find the following French sentence containing this term:
Explanation: I found several sites under rustic wheat. Just type " rustic wheat " in any search engine. SEE FOR EXAMPLE :
FORMULAS AND BAKING TIPS • Rustic Wheat Bread
Prepare natural starter by combining 2 lbs.
water with barley malt. Mix in 1 lb., 4 ozs.
each of white wheat flour and whole wheat
flour to form moist dough. Cover; let rise at
room temperature for 24 to 36 hours. Starter
Explanation: in the sense of untreated, unbleached, hence more "rustic"
I did a quick check on Internet on the sites that sell spelt and natural wheat is how they would describe. Also there is a cereal that I like with spelt in it which is called "ancient grains".
