Explanation:
The opposite of transport amont, ie transportation which takes place after something else. I don't know how this fits with your context, but the amont could be raw materials arriving and the aval could be finished goods being shipped out..

Explanation:
"En aval" is somewhat metaphorical here. Imagine a journey in several phases, e.g., two lorries, a barge, then a third lorry. Each phase passes the cargo on for forwarding by the next.
