The bank has already started a patient development process. As early as the end of WW1, in a concern to diversify its loans, it has broadened its customer base of industrial customers. This leads it, on the one hand, to grant short term loans to corporate customers and,
on the other hand, to set up a medium term credit subsidiary, UCINA (Union pour le Crédit à l'Industrie Nationale) in 1919, in a venture with Comptoir National d'Escompte de Paris.
