I would leave 'grand prix' in French, as that is the accepted term in English, but I would put translate the title into English as above, in the same way that 'le Grand Prix de Monaco' is known as 'the Monaco Grand Prix'.

It all depends on the name, I suppose, because certain events are well known internationally under their original name (e.g. Tour de France), whilst others are partially or totally anglicised.

If in doubt, I would check with the race organisers if there is an official equivalent title in English (try to find their website if there is one).

Thanks, Julia. This sort of problem often happens to me. I have found both Grand Prix Cap D'Agde and Cap D'Agde Grand Pris, as well as Grand Prix in Cap D'Agde on the official site for the 'Championnat'to which this particular race belongs. I never know what to do with proper names and acronyms, ARGH! I think I'll go with your suggestion though, as it is what came up most on the net.

Yes, the GP de Cap d'Agde is one of the race weekends making up the ORMA Multihull Championship series. I regularly work for several of the boats which are part of the 60' multi (and mono) circuit and my husband is project manager for a 60-footer under construction.
