French term or phrase: champion de France honneur
"Champion de France en honneur en 1995, notre judoka professionnel est devenu entraîneur."
Anyone know how to say this in English?

French champion
Explanation:
'champion en honneur' means current champion, but in English this would sound strange 'the current French champion in 1995', so it would probably be best to leave it out and use '1995 French champion' or 'French champion in 1995'.
