French term or phrase: la saison des visites maximales
I initially translated "pendant la saison des visites maximales" as "during the season experiencing the highest number of visits", however does anyone agree with me that it may be much simpler and without losing any content to say "during peak season". I know "peak season" is normally translated as "pleine saison" but it seems to fit in my context which deals with the many tourists who visit Pompeii during the month
of August.

Any suggestions welcome.

English translation:peak tourism season
Explanation:
By adding "tourism" you make the meaning absolutely clear to the average reader (even though "peak season" by itself is perfectly clear -- to frequent trevallers and to people in the travel and tourism industry).
