Control system overview

The Shell Caroline project control system is a hybrid DCS/PLC (distributed control system/programmable logic controller) design. The DCS performs overall management of wells, compressor stations, the gas plant, water sources, water disposal well, sulfur handling, pipeline blocking, environmental monitoring, and custody transfer. The DCS also provides regulatory and advanced analog control, the primary operator stations in the project control room within the gas plant, and MIS data logging and reports.
