In accounts for an oil production company...the text says "une provision pour reconstitution de gisement est comptabilisée pour faire face aux coûts des travaux de recherche et de développement de nouveaux gisements". This has me rather flummoxed, for if "reconstitution" is reconstruction, why would the provision be used to cover R&D for new deposits? By the way, for some reason my display doesn't allow me to add notes or respond to suggestions. Anyone else have this difficulty or know how to solve it? Rest assured your suggestions are most appreciated!

agree  Bourth (X): Yes. A given deposit is not replenished, obviously, but while production proceeds money must be put aside to cover the costs of finding and harnessing new deposits.
