Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature / Quote from Don Juan
French term or phrase: Les inclinations naissantes...
Hello everyone

This is a quote from the beginning of Act I Scene II of Don Juan. Maybe someone has it on their bookshelf in English? (I'm looking for a published translation).

"Les inclinations naissantes, après tout, ont des charmes inexplicables, et tout le plaisir de l'amour est dans le changement."

Asker: Hi Ben Thanks for your suggestion. What I'm really hoping for is that someone will find the quote in a published translation, maybe one sitting around from school days ;-) Thanks again for your help, it is appreciated!

neutral  Najib Aloui: Dom Juan, I think, means newborn, "virgin" feelings truly experienced as by a true lover ...The change is just a means to live again that feeling .

I guess I was totally on the wrong track. I thought you meant Don Juan, based on Nikolaus Lenau and it turns out it was Moliere's Dom Juan, as Richard Benham pointed out.. sorry..
