French term or phrase: campagnes de nettoyage
Does anyone know if "campagnes de nettoyages" can be translated as "clearing campaigns" in the following sentence:

"Les vegetaux croissent les surfaces librement entre deux campagnes de nettoyage, et debordent avec plus de liberté sur les constructions qu'ils envahissent".

I'd welcome any suggestions.

land clearing project or campaign

Explanation:
I think I'd add the word "land" to the phrase, since "land clearing" appears to be the English equivalent for such activities as déblaiement and debroussaillage

Explanation:
I guess the context of land clearance has already been given in the text. This translation may be in the same fairly relaxed register.
