Just wondering whether I have understood the usage of this term in this context:
"Ipanema, quartier mythique, quartier typique de Rio. À l'heure de la sortie des bureaux, les costards cravates tombent pour laisser place aux shorts et aux parties de football mixtes, le long d'une des plus belles baies du monde. "
My attempt, using "mixed football parties" is:
"This is the legendary quarter of Ipanema, and a typical Rio quarter. As the offices are emptying, the suits and ties are changed for shorts, and mixed football parties align the length of one of the most beautiful bays in the world.
I am not sure if "parties...mixtes" refers to "mixed teams" or "mixed parties of people".
Yes, I did change a couple of words around because suits and ties "falling" made no sense, and "align" was just the way I say the teams of people along the length of the bay.
PS This is just a rough draft, but it is due tomorrow morning so I am rushing it. If there are any other major errors, let me know and I can post them as new questions. (Also got a touch of flu so it doesn't feel very basic at the moment.)
