colorimetry/color display measurement

Explanation:
Colorimetry is used to make sure that colors stay consistent from session to session of video recording. We have all seen home videos where the color of somebody's shirt seems to change every time the camera goes on and off. Colorimetry procedures prevent that by finding a color balance every time the camera goes on. Professionals use white or black to test their cameras in the lighting conditions. White is preferable because it is easier to see shading problems.

I know this is more of an explanation than you requested, but thought it might shed some light on your term.
