French term or phrase: desimbrication, migration
I'm editing a document about the IT services provided by a consulting firm. The translator used "de-interleaving" for "desimbrication" in the following, but that doesn't sound right to me:
"Prestation de desimbrication du systeme GE.Sovac." Termium does give "interleaving" for "imbrication."

There's also a phrase "Migration Windows 2000" under a list of IT management services. Should this be "Migration to Windows 2000"? Thanks, Karen

de-leaving
Explanation:
I find 185 hits on Alta Vista for de-interleaving. Sure sounds weird to me, but what do I know about where the it folks come up with their terms (I don't think they consult many linguists).

And yes, the phrasing in *English* seems to be: migration to Windows (Google also came up with a bunch of French hits that had, indeed, "migration Windows")

Thanks a million, Yolanda. I have to get this in in a few minutes so I appreciate your quick answer. My husband's been in the computer business for many years and has never heard this word, but there are so many new words in this field all the time I'm sure he doesn't know them all. Karen

Lucky you!

Explanation:
It must be nice to have a ready-made computer expert on site. Ours moved out when he got married a couple of years ago. I should have married one, instead of just having one as a kid, but who was to know, back in 1970, when we got married, what kind of a husband would \"really\" prove useful!

Sorry!

Explanation:
Sorry for the second posting, Yolanda. I thought the first one didn't get posted because it took much longer than usual, so I posted a second question since I was in such a rush. Thanks again for your helpful response! Karen
