I've tried several online translators and gained the following results:
"technological watch" or "technological survey". What is the relevant translation ?
laure endrizzi
English translation:TECNOLOGICAL WATCH
Explanation:
Your guess is correct : technological watch. It refers to the function of keeping a watch on the technological developments.

SEE THE FOLLOWING REFERENCE :
IF18 - Technological watch and economic intelligence
The aim of this credit course is the understanding and use of the mechanisms and tools required for the setting up of management and operating systems for all the industrial information necessary for strategic decision-making (economic, competitive, commercial, technological, statutory information, etc. ).

The first part concerns the analysis of requirements and the identification of suitable information structures ; the second deals more especially with the methods of processing and systematic use of information (PERT method and setting up of a computer project).

The teaching is based on the study of practical cases and on the use of databases.

Technological survey

Explanation:
This is going to be tricky, I guess, with all those responses!

http://babel.altavista.com tells you 'technological survey'. Though one is tempted, as others have suggested, to go in for 'technological watch'. At face value, both might be correct.

So that doesn't really solve your problem.

What is the exact context in which the term is used in the sentence? The sentence and the context before and after the term is used should usually make it clear.

"technology watch"

Explanation:
is a better English rendering, in keeping with the linguistic practice of using a noun ("technology") instead of the corresponding adjective ("technological") before the word "watch."

I suspect this practice grew by analogy from the phrases "stock watch" and "board watch" (both referring to the New York Stock Exchange, which is also known as the Big Board).

A leading Internet magazine is named simply "Boardwatch."

Web citations notwithstanding, I would recommend against using "technological watch," because this phrase implies that the act of watching is being done specifically through technological means.

In other words, this is a case in which the literal translation ("technological") can lead you astray. The actual sense of "veille technologique" is that technology itself -- its progress, developments, trends, etc. -- is being monitored, as the subject of the watch.

Hope this helps, HC
