French term or phrase:traitement fil de l'eau (data processing)
what type of processing is this?
and how would you get over the "processing process" nature of "processus de traitement"? Thanks, Bear.
Explanation: Hi Bear. You have probably heard of "data streams". Fil de l'eau is translated by "stream line" in the domain of oceanography, but also in IT. You could also translate it as "data channel", but I prefer the term "stream".
Now, about "processus de traitement": I would translate it simply as "processing". "Processing procedure" or anything like that doesn't sound all that great. :)

stream processing (or) data-stream processing
Explanation: The latter term is preferred. (However, stay away from "streaming processing," which has a very specific meaning in the tape-backup field!)
As for "processus de traitement," the English "processing," with the appropriate tweaks depending on the syntax of the context, should do just fine.
