Can't make sense of this. It relates to testing pipework.

in the event of maximum capacity, make integrity tests on the sluice gates (or floodgates)
Explanation:
or "in case of"

The whole sentence would've been nice, but that about the best I can do without it.

I think "probants" was incorrectly used here. I think they meant "probité" which means "integrity". I would make sense to make integrity tests on the pipes to see what pressure they withstand at maximum capacity.

Hope this is helpful.

Many thanks. I used "valves" instead of "floodgates" after consulting with the client

agree  PaulaMac (X): I would say "conduct" tests, and vannes could be valves if this is a pipeline

disagree  5Q: 'tests probants' makes perfect sense: it means to test fully, to push to its limits, to get real answers.
