Here is what I found on various kinds of "boucles," including "boucles pincées," at an Orly Website:

Les boucles complètes, comme à Roissy, autorisant des fréquences d'apparition de véhicules plus grandes et de meilleurs débits mais nécessitant des dispositifs de sécurité plus sophistiqués et présentant donc plus de risques de paralysie par panne de véhicule en voie.
Les boucles pincées évitent les retournements en bout de ligne et, souvent conçues à double sens, autorisent ainsi des modes dégradés plus efficaces en cas de difficulté sur une voie.
