French term or phrase: ressort de dilatation
Instructions for changing the resistors on a welding machine for sealing polythene bags.

Au moment du remplacement des resistances, il est imperatif de comprimer le ressort de dilatation. Dans le cas contraire, le teflon serait brule rapidement et la resistance casserait en quelques soudures.

Could it be expansion spring or decompression spring?
