calibrated gravity-flow segment
Explanation:
In full, "the flowmeter envisioned by [or "that is the subject of"] the invention is of the type that includes a first tube, known as the measuring tube, that includes a calibrated gravity-flow segment..."

It sounds a bit stiff, but that's patentese for you...!

Hope this helps,
HC

gravity flow calibrated portion

Explanation:
tronçon = part, portion, section. Here it means a portion of the tube.

calibré = calibrated; It means that the cross section is well known in order to compare a reference liquid (whose flowing speed is known) with unknown liquids.

écoulement = flow.

gravité = gravity.

écoulement par gravité = gravity flow. The flow that naturally occurs because of the gravity i.e. the weight of the liquid that makes it flowing downward the tube.
