I don't have much context for this unfortunately. These are used for display panels, some sort of three sided arrangement for advertising. They can be made of aluminium or PVC

Sounds like those fancy advertising systems where the advert changes every 30 seconds to show another poster. The poster is stuck on to a series of horizontal strips that together make upa whole picture. They use them a lot in France and they probably are 3-sided. When yo rthink about it, that system would work best

Explanation:
"Ailette" is often translated by "winglet", which is fairly literal. If I'm thinking of the same thing you've got to find the term for - a sort of triptych - a central panel with two panels, one on either side, which close over the main panel like a book.

"Wing panel", "side panel" or just plain "wing" might do the trick.
