French term or phrase: agitateur à helices à grande vitesse de rotation
The above term relates to the apparatus used to mix a grout preparation for the consolidation of masonry walls.

The original French sentence reads:

"Il est nécessaire de stabiliser le mélange tout en conservant sa fluidité, par l'adjonction d'argile ou de bentonite (variété d'argile blanche fine) et en effectuant un mélange chaux + argile + eau, auquel on peut ajouter une faible quantité de fluidifiant diminuant la tension superficielle, (par exemple du gluconate de soude) à l'aide d'un agitateur à helices à grande vitesse de rotation (environ 4 000 tours/minute) servant en même temps de réservoir pour l'injection".

I have so far translated the term as a "rotational high-speed helical agitator".

"It is necessary to stabilise the mixture whilst retaining its flow characteristics, by adding clay or bentonite (a variety of fine white clay) and to form a mixture of lime + clay + water, to which a small quantity of plasticizer can be added to reduce the surface tension, (for example, sodium gluconate), with the help of a rotational high-speed helical agitator (around 4,000 revolutions/minute) which also serves as a pouring reservoir for the grout mix".

Many thanks for any suggestions.

high speed propeller mixer

Explanation:
That's exactly what it is. There is no need to translate "rotational" - it's implicit

I agree with the first answer:
with the help of a high speed propeller mixer (at around 4,000 rotations/minute)
which at the same time serves as . . .

I would think because of the explanation
of how many RPM's you do not need to
add the word rotation to the mixer. Or you could say:

with the help of a propeller mixer rotating at high speeds ( . . . ) . . .

This may be an exacter translation.

I would not use revolutions for rotations or turns because it is kind
of uncommon in usage.

mixer fitted with high speed rotating padles

Explanation:
I don't think you can use propellers in grout. I would recomend "paddles"

"high-speed (approx. 4,000 rpm) spiral-blade mixing device"

Explanation:
or simply "high-speed (approx. 4,000 rpm) spiral-blade mixer."

In this translation, the standard abbreviation "rpm" ("revolutions per minute") takes care of "de rotation." The important thing is to mention the blade, in order to distinguish this particular device from the other types of mixing equipment. It's also a good idea to avoid the cognate "agitator," which in English implies a shaking action in addition to, or instead of, a stirring action. -- HTH!

An alternative, probably better. (The term "screw-paddle mixer" appears in the web side below, which I found while researching your next query...!)

a bladed agitator (or mixer) capable of high-speed rotation

Explanation:
Salut Helen,

Your overall translation is excellent, but "rotational high-speed helical agitator" is a little too studied for this context. Also, "à hélices", translates to "bladed" in this context (think "helicopter"), and "helical" translates back to French as "hélicoïdal", as in "spiral" (think DNA double helix)

high-speed propeller mixer, or high-speed propeller-type mixer

Explanation:
You will find this expression on the site below that deals with cement preparation for casting. Quoting: "1.Add the sand to the water. 2.Carefully strew or sift the Fast Cast Exterior Gypsum Cement into the mixing container. Do not soak. 3.Use a high-speed, variable-drive propeller mixer to disperse the slurry. Mix for 3 to 4 minutes, but no more than 5 minutes. "

Elsewhere, a potter mixes his clay thus: "I mixed my own clay using a big propeller mixer to thick slip and then dried it out to
throwing consistency." "

You will find several examples of this expression on the web.
