French to English translations [PRO] Telecom(munications) / tv
I didn't have sufficient knowledge to go anywhere with this so decided not to take the job after all. It was one of those jobs where the client says 'Can you translate a contract?' with no further details. I thought I'd check out a couple of the terms in case it gave me some kind of insight but I'm afraid it didn't so I was as much in the dark after everyone's kind answers as when i started. Many thanks to you all, in any case, for taking the trouble to reply.
Explanation: ...as explained in the paragraph (thanks, Tony)
...referred to herafter as .... (and then you just take what they are called in the title of the paragraph.)
Needless to say, canaria, when you submit the finished piece, just leave out "(ci-apres designess les Chaines Adossees)" and translate "Chaines Independants" as "independent channels".
Unless of course there is another type of "Chaines Independants", in which case select a different answer!!
