French term or phrase: potentiels carcans

Hello everyone,

I'm working on product descriptions for a French shoe brand.

Here is the context:

"Ces sandales, confectionnées dans un cuir noir verni, sont dotées d'un talon original en bois et plexi. Bien loin de potentiels carcans, ce modèle s'accordera à toutes vos tenues du jean boyfriend à la jupe midi."

Not wanting to translate this too literally and preferably in a more positive way, while retaining the original meaning, this is my try:

"Crafted in patent black leather, these sandals feature an unusual wood and plexi heel. Surprisingly light and easy to wear, this model will work well with all your outfits from boyfriend jeans to midi skirt."

Has anyone another suggestion for "potentiels carcans"?

This is how I interpret the phrase in this context and with reference to the entry in Larousse. I'm not suggesting this as a suitable translation in your context, of course. I think your own suggestion is natural and probably appropriate - especially the positive angle you have taken.

Other possibilities (for the opposite of carcan): comfortable / far from being uncomfortable / supple
Or, in the sense of familiarity: may become your new favourite
