French term or phrase: ravalement voie ballast (RVB)
From an insurance survey report on damage to track following a derailment. Thanks for any suggestions.

the whole of the track and ballast were renewed/replaced in 1986

by the way, désolidarisation probably refers to the fact that the rails were LWR/CWR (long/continous welded rails) and that they have to be "unwelded" from each other

agree  Bourth (X): Unless "ravelement" is just when they make it LOOK as if the track has been seen to. They're good at that in the UK, aren't they?

-> inconnu au bataillon - not sure they even make it "look as if". Bung it down and buzz off
