Si potrebbe cambiare sguardo con occhi seguendo l'espressione spalancare gli occhi, in questo caso i suoi occhi si spalancano, ma preferisco lasciare sguardo=regard.

halluciné vuol dire allucinato e quindi una traduzione letterale dovrebbe essere: il suo sguardo allucinato.
