"Eiri amach na casca 1916 - 1991" (Easter Rising). 75th Anniversary of the Easter Rising, with portraits of signatories of the Proclamation of Indepence, phoenix rising from the flames and sunburst

Just in case you need clarification, this was a rebellion (when the Irish Republic was declared), which failed miserably. However the savage execution of the leaders and the imprisonment of many rebels eventually led to a situation whereby Sinn Feiners won the sympathies of the previously apathetic Irish populace. The Sinn Feiners were thus elected to the British Gov in the Elections of 1918, but abstained and set up an Irish Parliament (illegal from the British point of view). Then there was a war with the British, then a Civil War, then the Free State, finally a (partial, excluding Nth Ireland) Republic in 1948 bu unilateral declaration.
