Kan ik "Treibstoff" vertalen als "brandstof", of is "brandstof" te algemeen? Wat zou dan de specifieke term voor "Treibstoff" zijn?

Brandstof is hier niet te algemeen. Motorbrandstof lijkt mij hier te specifiek.

Treibstoffsektor = brandstofindustrie.

Uit mijn beroepservaring weet ik dat men in dit verband '-industrie(tak)' verkiest boven 'sector'.

De scheikunde, de metallurgie, een gedeelte van de warmtesector en de brandstofindustrie hebben vaste, vloeibare en gasvormige producten uit (steen)kool nodig ter vervanging/ substitutie van aardolie en aardgas.

Omdat de overige genoemde sectoren ook vrij algemeen gehouden worden, zou ik Treibstoffsektor met brandstofsector vertalen. Het gaat er om welke economische sectoren ruwweg olie en aardgas verwerken. Wat zijn de alternatieven die je in gedachten had?
