Die Muschel gehört zu den ältesten Tierarten.
Tot nog toe heb ik 'Muschel' met schelp vertaald, wat ook heel passend is, omdat het een tekst over behuizingen is en de 'schelp' wordt als zinnebeeld gebruikt.
Verderop in de tekst wordt er ook naar verwezen als: 'dieses Kalkgehäuse'.
Moet ik dan maar wisselen tussen 'schelp' en 'schelpdier'?

Ik zou het vertalen als mossel, het eetbaar schelpdier.
De schelp of mosselschelp is de "Muschelschale".

In je eerste zin \"Die Muschel gehört...\" zou ik dus het woord \"mossel\" gebruiken. Als \"Kalkgehäuse\" wordt bedoeld het woord \"mosselschelp\" of \"schelp\".

agree  papez (X): je hebt gelijk. immers in de bovenstaande zin wordt verwezen naar een van de oudste diersoorten, het betreft hier de soort dus zelfs "schelpdier" is indeze niet van toepassing. groet CP
