English basement Explanation: My construction dico says English basement is American English for the German term, but I'm not sure what an English basement is. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 mins (2003-08-22 23:43:07 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here\'s a photo of a house with an English basement.
